Occasionally, you might show your Avana® bottle some extra love by giving it a deep clean. Carefully follow the steps below.
Disassemble the bottle as follows: unscrew and remove the cap.

Remove the silicone gasket from inside the lid by easing the handle of a teaspoon, chopstick, or other thin, blunt object under the outer edge of the gasket.
Wash the silicone gasket and the inside of the lid with warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and air dry.

When all components are completely dry, reassemble. The side of the silicone gasket with small recessed lines should face into the lid, while the smooth side should face outward.

Unscrew and remove the FreeSip® spout from the bottle.
Remove the straw and clean with a straw brush.

Remove the silicone gasket encircling the neck of the FreeSip® spout.

Wash the spout and gasket with warm soapy water. Use a straw brush to clean inside the small passage through the spout. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely.

To reassemble, replace the silicone gasket so that the thicker edge is closer to the top of the FreeSip® spout. Make sure that the straw is completely inserted into the FreeSip® spout.

Use warm soapy water and a bottle brush to clean inside the bottle.
For an even deeper clean, fill the bottle with a 1:5 ratio of household white vinegar and warm water and let sit for 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely.

Reassemble the bottle when all parts are completely dry.
We recommend washing frequently. Avoid storing liquids inside the bottle. Store the bottle with the lid off.

Do not soak the lid in water. If the lid does become submerged in water, lift up the retractable metal handle and unscrew the top of the lid with the handle to clean inside. Allow all components to air dry completely.

When all components are completely dry, reassemble.
The side of the silicone gasket with small recessed lines should face into the lid, while the smooth side should face outward.
When reassembling the lid, make sure that the retractable metal handle is securely seated inside the top.

Unscrew and remove the FreeSip® spout from the bottle.
Remove the straw and clean with a straw brush.

Remove the silicone gasket encircling the neck of the FreeSip® spout. Wash the spout and gasket with warm soapy water.

Use a straw brush to clean inside the small passage through the spout. Rinse thoroughly and air dry completely.

Do not use the retractable metal handle to screw or unscrew the lid from the bottle, to avoid loosening the lid’s top and causing unexpected handle disassembly.

Press down on and remove the inner silicone cap cover (marked with "A")

Unscrew and remove spout.

Press down to pop out and remove the glass spout.

And remove the clear silicone gasket.

Wash in the dishwasher, placing larger parts in the top rack and smaller parts in the silverware basket.
The bottle and parts may also be washed in warm soapy water with a sponge or bottle brush.

Reassemble the bottle when all parts are completely dry. Carefully align the large square indentation on the cap with the large square tab on the inner silicone cover. Slide silicone base back onto glass bottle. Reassemble clear silicone gasket onto glass spout and pop into plastic collar.
We recommend washing frequently. Avoid storing liquids insidde the bottle.
Remove the lid from the cup and carefully remove the silicone gasket. Wash both with warm soapy water.

Use a straw brush to clean. Clean inside the lid, including through the drinking opening using a straw brush.

Allow all components to dry completely.

Reassemble, ensuring that the silicone gasket is properly inserted into the indented space in the lid, with the more prominent part of the silicone gasket facing above.

Use warm soapy water and a bottle brush to clean inside the cup.
For an even deeper clean, fill the cup with a 1:5 ratio of household white vinegar and warm water and let sit for 10 minutes.

Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
